Seasons Change, and So Does Luxembourg

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but it might be fair to judge a place by its seasons.

By popular demand, here is finally a post on Luxembourg, a tiny, often overlooked country that I have called “home” for the past three years.

What I love most about the Grand Duchy is the seasons.

Each one leaves our surroundings completely transformed and brings with it a whole new lifestyle and set of traditions to look forward to: mushroom picking, Christmas markets, asparagus season, Fiederwäissen festivals…

There is a distinct Lebensrhythmus (rhythm of life) here driven by nature, and it is easy to feel like you are a part of it all.

Thanks Natty for sharing these wonderful photographs. I’m curious what the Luxembourgians’ would find to protest about; surrounded as they are by such year round beauty. The towns, and vineyards look so clean and inviting; like places God would create if he had the money. I love the photo of the mean old dog who looks like he might have chewed a hole in the barn door. His fur color perfectly matches the paint. Perhaps he was the inspiration for their color scheme.

I’ve never seen him outside of that garage. Imagine what his perspective of the world must be like. My ulterior motive for this post is of course to get people to come visit me in Luxembourg 😉 It really is beautiful though!
